We asked Elena a few questions about her career journey so far, how she ended up at Lifehouse, and what she loves about her job. Read the full interview below!

How long have you been working at Lifehouse?

Since 2010.

Tell us a little bit about how you ended up here.

I started working as a therapist, then moved on to spa reception, spa trainer, spa supervisor and now spa manager.

Describe your usual working day.

My working day varies from one day to another. I make sure everyone in our department is well and ready to start their day. I hold morning meetings with therapists before they start their shift, making sure they have all the support they need through the day, and setting incentives.

Other tasks include; training, meetings, interviews, supporting spa reception, making sure the retail area is stocked up and looks good for the day, managing the spa schedule to spread treatments fairly between therapists and make sure the white space is advertised and filled up, attending events, helping and supporting other departments if needed.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Lifehouse?

The support I have from everyone I work with and the respect everyone is treated with. Also the setting and grounds are amazing.

What do you like most about working in this industry?

How grateful and relaxed guests are leaving our spa, and the amazing feedback we have from our guests regarding their treatments and overall experience. I love how enthusiastic our therapists are when they realise how amazing they are after receiving that feedback.

What makes Lifehouse different from other places you’ve worked?

The incredible support every member of staff gives each other.

What are some new skills you have picked up since you started working here?

People skills more than anything – talking to and managing members of staff to maintain their wellbeing and respect.

What advice would you give to people applying for a job like yours?

It is very hard work, but as long as they keep being great at what they are doing, that soon will be recognised and it can become something bigger and better than they have ever imagined.

Which treatment would you pick if you were a guest?

The Elemis Hidden Sanctuary and Elemis Pro-Collagen Facial.
